El Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) hizo un llamado a los abonados para que ahorren energía durante este verano, ante el descenso en el nivel del agua de los embalses Arenal y Cachí. San Jose (Editor). The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) called the subscribers to save energy this summer, before the decline in water levels of reservoirs and Cachí Arenal.

 

Greivin Mayorga, subgerente de electricidad del ICE, dijo que “buscamos administrar nuestros embalses y cuidamos los niveles de seguridad para los meses más críticos de este verano”. Greivin Mayorga, deputy electricity ICE, said that "we manage our reservoirs and care for the safety levels for the critical months of this summer."

The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) will give more space to private companies in the production of electricity.

The entity will open a contest to acquire approximately 200 megawatts (MW) of energy from clean, renewable sources.

This will allow the development of small wind farms, hydroelectric or biomass (waste).
