Aresep decides to reduce the price of private power

Regulatory Authority of Public Services (Aresep) will reduce the price of energy that ICE pays private generators.

Currently these businesses contribute about 10% of the country's electricity.

The regulatory body approved last May 7 a new model to set tariffs for energy by the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) to private firms.
