The Costa Rican Petroleum Refinery (Recope) enable the import of bunker by Caldera port to feed a power plant of ICE, located in Montes de Oro, Puntarenas.

According to Recope, the strategy will be implemented next year, while building a pipeline to transfer the bunker from a terminal in Puntarenas (former Fertica) to the generator. El comienzo de esa fase está previsto para el 2012. The beginning of this phase is scheduled for 2012.
