New Year's resolutions of President Laura Chinchilla are marked largely by the success of the project on General Law on Electricity and the possibility of avoiding the path to the "failure" which, she said, the proposal had left by the government Oscar Arias.

The first shipment of bunker fuel thermal generation plant Garabito, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), arrived on Thursday to Port Caldera, Puntarenas.

This is an import of 73,000 barrels of the fuel carried by the Costa Rican Petroleum Refinery (Recope).

The discharge of the vessel Port Louis began the same Thursday and will run until tomorrow.

Mitsubishi launch electric car in Costa Rica

SAN JOSE ACAN-EFE. Costa Rica was chosen by Mitsubishi Motors of Japan to launch in America next February, the iMiEV, his first electric car, the company announced yesterday.

According to Mitsubishi, the car, which will arrive here before to USA., Has "great power" and was developed "after 40 years of technological research."

The iMiEV is a 100% electric car with zero emissions of CO2, which uses a lithium battery instead of the traditional lead and reaches a speed of 130 kilometers per hour.

The draft Electricity Law to Congress yesterday came with a label written in phosphorescent: priority.

The Government's proposal to create a legal framework for the opening of the national electricity market is the most important of the 32 projects submitted to the deputies to handled in special sessions, which begin today and end on 30 April.

The Executive seeks to exploit the space in which it can dominate the legislative agenda to push for a priority project "indisputable", as described yesterday by Minister of the Presidency, Marco Vargas, a news conference.
